Privacy Policy

Wren ("we," "our," or "us") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard information when you use our website, mobile app, and related services ("Services").

1. Information We Collect

  • Account and profile information: information such as your name, email address, account settings, and the profile information you choose to provide.
  • Training, nutrition, and check-in information: information you enter or generate while using Wren, including ordinary non-cycle check-in data that supports cloud-backed app features.
  • Apple Health information: health and activity categories you authorize Wren to read. Access is optional and controlled through Apple Health permissions.
  • Cycle information: if you enable cycle tracking, Wren stores your tracking preference, cycle type, typical cycle length, last-period start, daily symptoms, period start or end, and spotting in Wren's app storage on your device, not on Wren's servers.
  • Usage and diagnostic information: limited app events, device information, and crash diagnostics used to operate and improve Wren.
  • Information you submit to AI features: prompts, messages, images, audio, or other content you choose to send when using an AI-assisted feature.

2. Device-Local Cycle Information

Wren does not upload logged cycle observations to Firebase, analytics providers, Sentry, OpenAI, Anthropic, or other AI providers. Symptoms and confirmed bleeding may be used on your device to support Today's capacity and recovery guidance.

During beta, estimated cycle phase does not change nutrition targets, Fuel Score, training, Next Best Move, Coach responses, menu ranking, or AI prompts. A calendar estimate does not confirm ovulation.

Cycle history does not sync between devices. Reinstalling Wren or clearing app storage removes it. Signing out does not remove it; it remains isolated to the account that created it on that device. Deleting the account removes that account's Wren-managed local cycle information. Device or operating-system backups may include app data under the backup provider's controls.

3. How We Use Information

  • Provide and maintain Wren's account, training, nutrition, recovery, and coaching features.
  • Respond to requests, provide support, and communicate service or beta updates.
  • Monitor reliability, diagnose crashes, prevent abuse, and protect the Services.
  • Understand coarse product interest and improve the beta without reconstructing a menstrual timeline.
  • Comply with applicable law and enforce our terms.

4. Cloud and Service Providers

Wren uses Firebase Authentication and Cloud Firestore for account services and ordinary cloud-backed product information such as profile, nutrition, training, and non-cycle check-in data. Raw or reconstructable cycle observations are excluded from normal check-in synchronization.

Wren uses Sentry for crash diagnostics with replay and default personally identifiable information capture disabled. Wren uses OpenAI and Anthropic for active AI-assisted features. App-generated requests to those providers exclude cycle observations, cycle day, estimated phase, and cycle-derived Today text. If you choose to type health information into Coach or another free-text AI feature, that user-authored content is sent as part of the interaction you request.

The Wren website uses Vercel for hosting and web analytics. Each provider processes information under its own terms and privacy practices.

5. Product Analytics and Beta Research

For cycle-beta interest, Wren records only whether a user enables or disables tracking and one later-return milestone. It does not record per-log cycle events, symptom types, bleeding, spotting, flow, period dates, cycle day, or estimated phase. App analytics events are assigned a 60-day expiration.

An optional beta survey may ask whether a tester viewed a cycle day, logged symptoms, or logged a period start or end. It does not request symptom types or dates. Access is limited to the beta research team, and raw responses are deleted within 30 days after beta synthesis.

6. Retention, Security, and Deletion

We retain account information for as long as needed to provide the Services, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. We use administrative and technical safeguards designed to protect personal data, but no method of storage or transmission is completely secure.

Account deletion removes account-owned Firebase data and Wren-managed cycle information stored locally for that account. Backups follow their normal retention and access controls; Wren does not promise selective deletion from immutable backups before their normal expiration.

7. Your Choices and Rights

  • Enable or disable optional permissions and cycle tracking.
  • Access or update account and profile information.
  • Delete your account and associated Wren-managed information.
  • Opt out of marketing emails through the unsubscribe link.
  • Exercise applicable privacy rights by contacting us.

8. Children's Privacy

Wren is not directed to individuals under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16.

9. Updates to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect product or legal changes. Updates will be posted here with a revised effective date.
